Nestled in the highlands of Karanganyar, Central Java, Lintang Lawu Café & Eatery offers visitors a unique destination where panoramic mountain views, local culture, and contemporary hospitality converge. Conceived as a welcoming retreat for both tourists and residents, the café embraces a design language that balances industrial character with the warmth of its natural surroundings. To realize this vision, Indocrete implemented Bomanite Custom Polishing & Exposed Aggregate System, transforming the flooring into a defining architectural feature throughout the space.

The concrete finish serves as more than a surface treatment. It establishes a visual foundation that complements the café’s atmosphere while delivering the durability and performance required for a busy hospitality environment. Through the careful application of polished concrete technology, the project achieves a seamless blend of aesthetics and functionality.

Design Concept

The design was inspired by the growing appeal of industrial-natural interiors, where raw materials are celebrated for their authenticity and texture. The Bomanite Custom Polishing & Exposed Aggregate System was selected for its ability to expose the natural beauty of the concrete matrix while creating a refined, light-reflective finish that enhances the overall spatial experience.

The exposed aggregate appearance introduces depth and visual richness, while the custom polishing surface contributes a clean and contemporary character. Warm tones and subtle textures were chosen to harmonize with the cultural identity of Central Java and evoke a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of traditional “tempo dulu” aesthetics. The result feels both modern and timeless.

Material Selection & Installation

The Bomanite Custom Polishing & Exposed Aggregate System,  was selected for its combination of visual sophistication, durability, and ease of maintenance. By mechanically polishing the concrete surface to reveal its aggregate composition, the system delivers a premium finish capable of withstanding heavy daily use while retaining its aesthetic appeal over time.

Installation presented several logistical challenges due to the café’s elevated second-floor location and mountainous setting. Transporting equipment and machinery to the site required specialized lifting methods, while limited power availability necessitated the deployment of additional generators. Through proactive planning and technical expertise, the Indocrete team successfully maintained project quality and schedule despite these demanding conditions.
