Elevating Residential Outdoor Spaces Through Design
Located in Cubao, Quezon City, the Mike Residence project transforms a 97-square-meter driveway and parking area into a refined and functional outdoor space. Designed to enhance curb appeal while maintaining long-term performance, the project demonstrates how decorative concrete can elevate everyday residential environments.
The surface design integrates a Medium Ashlar Slate pattern with sand-finished areas, creating subtle contrast and visual depth. The use of Shell Gray and Autumn Brown tones allows the hardscape to blend naturally with the home’s architectural palette, resulting in a cohesive and balanced appearance.
Designed for Durability and Everyday Use
Beyond aesthetics, the driveway was engineered for durability and safety. The combination of Bomanite Imprint System and Bomanite Exposed Aggregate System provides slip resistance and resilience, ensuring the surface performs reliably under regular residential use.
Despite its modest scale, the project presented several execution challenges, including limited site access, dual-finish integration, and a schedule affected by weather conditions. Manual installation was required in tight entry points, while heavy rains during curing demanded flexible construction strategies.
A Cohesive and Functional Living Environment
Careful elevation control was implemented to ensure proper drainage, while seamless transitions between finishes maintained visual continuity. The use of low-VOC sealers further reflects attention to both performance and environmental responsibility.
The final result is a durable, slip-resistant, and visually cohesive outdoor space that enhances both the functionality and overall character of the residence—demonstrating the versatility of decorative concrete at a residential scale.
